Otherwise, you will have an uncomfortable camping trip. You’ll have to travel about 12 miles down the road to pick anything up, so it’s a good idea to load up before you go. The park is off the beaten path, and you won’t even have access to a gas station. You can’t buy fishing licenses, firewood, food, or ice at the park. If you don’t need hookups, you can bring your RV along so you can sleep in your own bed instead of the ground. It’s important to understand that the campsites do not have RV hookups, but there is an RV dump station and a water-filling station. Tent camping is the most popular choice at the campgrounds, but you can bring an RV if you want. There aren’t any facilities, but you will have lots of peace and quiet. You can also enjoy primitive camping at Yarborough Pass. South Beach is similar to North beach, but it has chemical toilets. North Beach offers beachfront camping at its best, but it doesn’t have any facilities. Malaquite Campground has 48 semi-primitive sites that are perfect for tent campers. Padre Island National Seashore has five campgrounds available.
